A very harrowing and a painful watch at times but brilliantly made film.
It is more difficult to deal with as it is based on true events and it just really makes you sit back and ask “why is this sort of thing allowed to get so out of hand or even take place”
There really is no gloss or commercialism to this film, it is very raw and tough but very engaging – some may call it a slow burner. However i was very impressed that there was a lot of emphasis on the relationship of the main characters – which was brilliantly played.
However do feel that the under rated James Franco was wasted in this film.
This movie is not for the easily offended or weak stomached and all those who have been through a similar experience will relate to it and i am sure it will evoke many conversations of right or wrong .
Tough but great viewing.
